Forget Me Not!

These forget-me-nots were growing in my mother's garden as I was preparing to leave her house for the last time after she died. I felt it was a little request--"Don't forget me!" Don't worry, I won't, Mom! (wahn!). I really miss my mother, and it hasn't subsided at all yet. Grief is a strange being that sits heavy on the heart and is not eager to depart.

They are in a small vase of hers on the front of Biker Buddy's car, which is reflecting the sky.

I posted 4 other flower photos to Photique 3, including trilliums au natural a wild geranium and the mighty lion. If interested in the others, click home while there and scroll to May 14. (I back-posted them for the flower challenge.)

The forget-me-not photo is lovely. You will never forget your Mom.

No, I won't! She was a very special lady to me (and others)!

I thought it was sort of interesting that they were in such abundant bloom that day I was leaving!

My mother died on my birthday, the 27 of April this year. We lived far from each other but I used to call her once or twice a week. Today, suddenly I can think of something I want to tell her, but I can't call her anymore. When I went to Finland to be with her when she was in the hospital for her last days, I met a person who had lost her mother a bit earlier. She told me that this happens to her too. She thinks about something she wants to share with her mother, but no, she can't! Mothers never die in our thoughts. And they shouldn't.

I'm so sorry for your loss, hpy.

(I won't call you "Happy" today!) :-(

Yes, I've had that happen a number of times already! And worse yet, soemthing you want to ask her and need to know and no one else can tell you. Also with my father, who died in 1998. I often want to ask or tell him something.

A friend of mine who lost his mother a couple of years ago said the other day that mothers are something very special. Even when they are old.
Thanks for your kind comment.

VERY special.

You can't replace a mother.

You can have more than one friend and more than one husband even, but only one mother.

Well--my son has two, in a way, but a step-mother isn't quite the same, maybe. I am his step mother. His biological mother died.

Life is complicated.

I miss my mother.
