I am hopefully leaving very soon! Almost immediately. Turning off the computer NOW!

In Disguise (for John)

Home on Leave.

BB sketch Crop

BB listens to PB do his practicing, by Mary Stebbins Taitt.

This was a quick sketch I did last night while PB was practicing the
piano. It's water color crayon brushed with water. But it was 16 x
20 and too large to fit on the scanner, so I scanned it in sections
and tried to put it together in photoshop--AK!

I assembled it in the photostitch of the Canon Zoom browser, which
worked a little better. See that version here.

NOTE: I am leaving tomorrow morning for points unknown . . . well
actually, for the Dodge Poetry Festival in New Jersey. I will be
camping along the way and camping there, so I will likely be unable to
post until I return which will be over a week after I leave.

Rosebud, just opening

Rosebud, just opening, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. For Thursday Challenge, Plants.

I am leaving Tuesday for an 8-day trip and will probably be incommunicado (and thus, unable to post) most or all of that time.

Extraordinary

Extraordinary, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Extraordinary is their daily lives, compared to ours. And how little thought we give them. For Photo Friday.

Trellis with Terra Cotta Pot

Trellis with Terra Cotta Pot, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Artrage. Just playing :-)

This is for Nancy R's mole, in Syracuse, NY--she is part of one of my mole exchange groups. I did this becase the paper is so thin that the ink bleeds through.

Still Life With Tomatoes

BB took this picture of tomatoes from our garden. They are very
small. We do have bigger ones.

"chalk on a blackboard"

Playing in artrage. This is obviously freehand and did not involve a photo.

Lady Slipper a la Artrage

OK, I did this on the Mac with the free version of artrage using only
my mouse. It's not that great, but I was running out of time. I
started with a photo, but photo was very different. I changed it a
lot. I DID IT FAIRLY QUICKLY, BUT IF YOU TOOK MORE TIME, YOU COULD DO
A BETTER JOB. oops, cap accidental, sorry.

Artrage by hand

I downloaded the FREE version onto my Mac and did this with the very clumsy mouse. All the tools I've been using on the paid version are available on the free version. I think. (Actually, I'm not totally sure about that, but all the ones I was looking for were there.

Turns out, I am wrong. I went back and looked. NO LAYERS on the free version, which are helpful when working on photos! Not absolutely necessary, but they make it easier.

See artrage with photos and my full review here.

Stealing my own thunder: Block Print Design for Christmas 08

This is just the design. When I get to actually cutting the block, it
will probably come out differently.

A little early, you say? It takes a long time to plan, draw, design,
cut and print home-made Christmas cards!

Squirrel

At the Detroit Zoo, the free-ranging wildlife were almost as numerous
as the caged animals.

Our Roses, again today

I put a quilt behind them for pink. (I also Ortonized them. (A soft focus technique).)

I took some more of these tests. There were not always choices that suited me and the answers were sometimes way off--like my party thing! HUH? Where's they get that? I tried to choose laid back choices like talking and eating and listening to music, but some of them were too far out. As far as travel, I wanted to travel to almost all those places!

As far as movies go, I tried to pick things I thought I MIGHT like, as most of them I haven't seen (except Persepolis).

Youniverse Personality TestYouniverse Personality Test
I took this test that was forwarded to me by Pam. It was fun to take, but in some instances, they didn't offer a choice that was right for me and I had to pick another. It was still fun and interesting, though, I enjoyed it and enjoyed the pictures they had for choices. You just pick the favorite of each group--the one most "you" and it gives you a new group and it doesn't take long.

I would have chosen a different bedroom than any they had. I like a dark cozy bedroom. I like lots of light during the day and lots of darkness at night. I chose the bedroom I did choose for its books. I would have chosen listening to music first choice in a really comfy chair in a dark cozy spot. The one I chose was my second choice. I like listening to music while I work. Also the art thing, I like manmade art, too, very much. But I couldn't resist the chambered nautilus!

This is a meme of sorts, and if you do it, let me know. I'm not tagging anyone except Coffeypot, because I know yr super busy. But it is interesting and fun.
