ArtRage: Christmas Card design 111203_001

I readjusted the picture above, not for balance and composition, but for the purpose of carving the block--it would be very hard to LEAVE BEHIND the details of red in the white areas and have them come out clearly in the prints (small blocks).  I prefer the white face below, but leaving the features behind would have been very difficult.

I am working on a design for a Christmas Block Print.  The current version is above--I've been working on it all morning.  The one below I did between midnight and 2 Am when I couldn't sleep (insomnia.)  I've been refining it.  However, when I carve it, it will lose some of its detail.  I did the changes in photoshop CS4 on my big computer.

One of my ArtRage paintings: Christmas Card design 111203_001 This is not the finished card, but a draft of a design for a possible block print--my husband Keith is modeling Santa. (I made him much fatter than he really is.)  I did this first draft, from which I made the above adjustments and additions, on Artrage on the iPad.

Wow, this is amazing! I look forward to seeing the final version.

I hear you about the insomnia... sigh. (Going through it now... 3am... )

Love the creation.

Thanks Jennifer and John. I think I may want to fiddle with it a little more before I carve it.
