Frost and Snow

I woke up this morning to snow on the ground.  Not a lot, not even as much as last time.  It's little round pellets cupped in the leaves as if each one were serving some frosty delight.  And frosty it is, a good thick white frost which is still heavy on the roofs and car tops but faded from the warmer earth.  The leaves are dropping like rain, as if the frost had released their lifegrip on the trees.
