Self Portrait with Biker Buddy

Yesterday, my new Round 4 Moleskine arrived in the mail!  YAY!  I'm so excited.  Biker Buddy and I went out and took a self portrait photograph from which I painted the cover of my new Moleskine. Acrylics on gessoed Moleskine cover.  OH--I took pix of the stages again.  I will post them below.

These sketchbooks travel around the country, and sometimes around the wold, to other artists, collect art and return to me.  FUN!

I need to get back to work on my Fellowship application.  No more art until I hear that this round has officially started.

Yay! I can see the entire painting here, since Cowbird shows it too large for my laptop. This is also FANTASTIC! Very much you :-) Made me sad that you downed yourself & your "talent level" on that open letter about Round 4. It's just bull. You are every bit as good as the other artists. It irks me that you don't think so. These last 2 posts are PROOF! Don't you see? You've more than put your time in. You've taken classes out the wahzoo... & learned on your own above & beyond what most "professionals" learn, by your own personal drive! You are a professional artist by now. You ARE.

Great work Mary, you bring beautiful energy to your paintings and in this particular piece it is so warm and loving.
