art in progress

The first one is a doodle I made with pens from Andrea and some of my own pens and two heart stencils I made myself. I don't feel satisfied with it so I may play with it some more.

The second it a 8.5 x 11 acryllic painting I made from the digital smudge painting.

Neither of these scanned well--digital art is often better for posting. These are too red, for one thing. And dark.

But I'm not happy with the second one, either. I need to work on it some more.

Just curious, why do you keep saying "pens from Andrea?” Pens are pens and using someone’s pens shouldn’t make a difference – should it? And who is this Andrea person and does she put out? Important questions enquiring minds need to know.

OH, hi Coffeypot, I am way behind on commenting--we were busy all weekend. Andrea gave me the pens for Christmas so this is my way of thanking and honoring her. She is a blogger and she did a pen give-away. I thought it was really nice and sweet of her and I want to appreciate that.

Good pens make better art than poor pens. I was trying to make a drawing with crappy pens that kept skipping and it was frustrating and the results were bad, Andrea gave me GOOD pens!
